Welcome to Pioneer’s Rest — the two homes of Branxholm’s Albert Street brought together for one big stay. Combining The Prospector and The Timberman, this elevated pair of self-contained units sleeps up to eight, set on a road shaped by two industries: the 1870s tin rush that put Branxholm on the map, and the timber milling that carried the town through the following century.
Pioneer’s Rest is made up of two mirrored, elevated homes facing each other across a shared driveway, each raised on stilts to make the most of the valley outlook.
Perched above the Ringarooma River valley, both homes share sweeping rural views, a shared driveway, and easy access to the Blue Derby mountain bike trails via the Branxholm–Derby link path — an ideal base for a bigger group chasing adventure together.
The Prospector (Cabin 1)
Bedroom 1: A spacious room with a luxurious king-sized bed.
Bedroom 2: A comfortable room with two single beds.
Living areas include a full kitchen, open-plan lounge with TV, and a private deck over the valley. Main bathroom with rain shower, separate laundry.
The Timberman (Cabin 2)
Bedroom 1: A roomy retreat with a king-sized bed.
Bedroom 2: A second roomy retreat, also with a king-sized bed.
Each includes fully equipped kitchen and dining, cosy lounge with TV, and a private deck with valley views. Main bathroom with shower and separate laundry.
Together, the two homes offer four bedrooms and two living spaces — enough room to spread out, while still being close enough to gather for shared meals or evening drinks on the decks.
Location
Branxholm is a small, history-rich town in Tasmania’s northeast, founded on an 1870s tin boom and later shaped by the timber industry that followed as mining wound down. Albert Street sits directly opposite the local recreation ground, with the Ringarooma River valley rolling out behind both homes.
