Welcome to Kelp Cabin, your intimate portal to calm, restful, and wonderfully laid-back times. Perched high on a lush, green hill, our cabin offers the magical feeling of a treetop hideaway, designed just for you.

Our peaceful, open-plan cabin is surrounded by trees, with a full-length deck that invites you to sit amongst the leaves and breathe in the fresh Tasmanian air. Gaze out at vistas of the bay and kunanyi (Mount Wellington) in the distance, and watch the sky open up to glowing sunsets or speckled starlit nights.

The bedroom features a luscious king-size bed where you can wrap yourself in soft, luxurious organic linen and savour those amazing views right from your pillow. The living space continues the classic Tasmanian shack vibe with bespoke hand-crafted furniture, comfortable leather sofas, and an eclectic mix of art.

To help you connect with the place and each other, we’ve prioritized disconnection from the digital world. You’ll find a beautiful selection of our favourite books, board games, yoga mats, and art supplies to enjoy. A TV with local channels is available, though reception can be intermittent during heavy rain or wind.

Kitchen: A fully equipped kitchen to cook up a storm. Please note there is no dishwasher.

Outdoor Living: An expansive deck with seating and a BBQ grill, perfect for enjoying the view.

For Your Stay: We provide organic cotton shower towels and separate beach towels.

You will have exclusive access to the entire Kelp Cabin and the land it sits on, ensuring you can relax and take in the calming vistas and bird song in peace. Access instructions and local highlights will be provided via email before your stay.

Please note that the sheds, caravan, and under-house storage areas are not accessible to guests.

To maintain the peaceful atmosphere of the cabin, we have a few simple rules:

Important Information

Digital Detox: In keeping with the spirit of disconnection, the cabin does not have WiFi, Netflix, or a DVD player.

Phone Reception: Mobile reception is limited on the Tasman Peninsula. Telstra has coverage at the cabin, but we cannot guarantee service for other providers.

No Laundry: There are no laundry facilities at the cabin. A public laundromat is available in nearby Port Arthur if needed.
