You’ll feel miles away from civilisation but are just a mere five-minute drive to Lenah Valley’s local cafes, pubs and grocers and 17-minutes from Hobart. Relax by the fire pit or enjoy dinner around the picnic table under the starry sky. Make the most of air-conditioned open living and Wi-fi, with a dedicated office to spark creativity and productivity without noisy distractions.

This dreamy cottage will reconnect you with nature as each outlook highlights towering treetops and mountainside sounds. Newly renovated, you can enjoy a nature holiday without sacrificing the creature comforts of home. The living room features a chaise lounge, wall-mounted TV, air conditioning and selection of books. The office is set up for remote work with Wi-Fi, an ergonomic chair and monitor. The kitchen has a cute retro style while boasting contemporary appliances such as an induction stove and range hood, oven and pastel blue fridge. A wooden bench wraps around the kitchen providing ample room for meal prep and doubles as a casual dining space with four wooden stools.

On a clear night, cosy up around the well-lit fire pit or heat up the BBQ and dine outside on the large picnic table by the outdoor heater. There are two additional small seating areas which are perfect for enjoying a morning brew amongst the trees.

Rest easy at night in two spacious bedrooms, both featuring pillows and blankets to keep you cosy, wardrobe storage and shuttered windows—with peaking views of the surrounding valley. The main bedroom features the larger queen bed, and the second has a double. The bathroom exudes a luxe charm with a clawfoot bath and gold tap ware. A long timber vanity provides plenty of space for your belongings and a washing machine is neatly tucked underneath for your convenience.

The driveway provides room for one vehicle.

During your stay, you and your group will have the entire cottage to yourselves. Please make yourselves at home!

Please note, a 4WD is not required to access the property, however the driveway is very steep and there is no turning circle at the top so guests will either need to back up the drive or back down.

Due to the steepness of the driveway towable items such as trailers and caravans are not permitted to be bought onto the property.

Fernvale cottage feels ideally remote whilst only being 17-minutes drive from Hobart. Being on the foothills of Mt Wellington, there are walking and cycling tracks plus viewing platforms looking across incredible vistas of Tasmania. In Winter it snows, so check local guides when tracks are open. The New Town Rivulet is a picturesque creek that flows through the suburb of Lenah Valley near the cottage. Experience Hobarts renowned restaurant scene and head to Peacock and Jones and dine by the waterside enjoying fresh local produce. Head to Salamanca markets for a day exploring over 300 stalls just a 20-minute drive away. For the art lovers and curious minds, MONA is the Museum of Old and New Art, just 17-minutes drive away and has been making waves with its unique exhibitions since 2011.
