**2019 TASMANIAN HOUSING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION HOME OF THE YEAR AND CUSTOM BUILT HOME OF THE YEAR**

A romantic oasis on the banks of the Tamar River in the midst of the prestigious Tamar Valley wine region.

The Boat House is a serene place for 2 or you can enjoy it with one other couple or with your besties. Two mirror-image bedrooms expansive waterfront views — as well as each having a deep bath with unlimited hot water. She’s cosy with everything you need to luxuriate and relax. If you have Instagram, you can follow both our guests and our personal stays at @deviotboathouse

Set alongside Tasmania’s Tamar river in a lush valley known for its ample wineries, rests The Boat House. While wine may be what draws people to the area nowadays, it hasn’t always been about vines and corks. With its convenient location at the top end of the state, close to the Bass Strait, the area was formerly used for boat building. Now, The Boat House sits atop an old boatyard used in the late 1800s, with remnants of the lands former use still apparent when the tide is low.

Used now as an escape from the city, this timber-clad award-winning home combines the best of both worlds, where old meets new in a quiet corner of Northern Tasmania to be enjoyed by all.

The Boat House has two luxurious bedrooms which are mirror images of each other. Both boast their own ensuite, with a luxurious deep freestanding bath, double shower and even an outdoor shower for those wishing to feel at one with nature and inhale Tassie’s fresh air. A central open-plan area combines the lounge, dining and well-appointed kitchen all enjoying panoramic waterfront views and are flooded with natural light. The house is surrounded by fully landscaped native gardens, a secure gated entrance giving you total privacy during your stay. There are two external cameras which cover the entrance and the garage and record movements 24 hours a day.

We are available by phone from 8 am to 8 pm if you have any questions during your stay. We would love it if you could message us when you have arrived safely and also a message on leaving is appreciated so we can clean as early as possible for our next guests.

Please please let me know as soon as you can if there are any issues at all so I have a chance to take the appropriate action to ensure your stay is as it should be – totally stress-free and relaxing!! As I am not in the area I am unable to personally check the house before your arrival – I am heavily reliant on my housekeeper and I need to know as soon as possible if you and therefore me have been let down in any way by the presentation of The Boat House.

Deviot is just a few minutes from the country town of Exeter which has supermarkets, banks, library, chemist, hardware, newsagency, hairdresser, prize-winning butcher, bakery, takeaway food, cafe, and hotel. The staff at the tourist information centre in Exeter are very friendly and knowledgeable. A 30-minute drive will get you to Launceston or Devonport which are major regional centres. There is limited public transport in the Tamar Valley region so you will need to have your own transport if you stay at The Boat House and to explore the area.
